Those that knew me growing up would probably laugh and want to call bullshit on me if they were reading this right now. They would say "Steve? Read? Hahaha, yeah right!". My former teachers would probably have a heart attack.

It is true, I hated reading with a passion. Every time I would pick up a book it was like a sudden case of narcolepsy, reading was a great sleep aid for me. However, later in life I would come to realize that I don't hate reading, in fact, I love it!

How did I go from hating books to reading 2-3 books a month? A co-worker of mine a couple of years ago had introduced me to audio books. He gave me access to his audio book library and suggested I read a particular book he really liked "Enders Game" which is one book in a series of books by Orson Scott Card. Surprisingly I had finished the book in just a couple of days. I would listen to the book while I drove to and from work, even while I worked and I would plug my iPod into my stereo at home and listen to it as I fell asleep. I was just as involved in this new form of reading as I was in the book itself. This was amazing, I didn't have to take time out of my busy day to stop everything and read a book and I didn't risk just taking a nap every time I tried to read a book.

I now require myself to read a minimum of two books a month and I am building up quite an audio library. Not only is my collection of audio books getting larger, but the knowledge and entertainment I get from the books is absolutely priceless. Entertainment books can be great topics of discussion with friends or even when meeting new people and I have yet to read a single personal development book that has not taught me something new or reminded me of something important that I had forgotten about.

Below you will find an ever-growing list of the books in my personal library. Please enjoy and check back for updates!
